Responsible Investment

A signatory to the UN’s Principles for Responsible Investment (“UN PRI”) since 2014 (performance recognised with a consistent A or A+ rating), we have a strong commitment to Responsible Investment:

– Sustainability framework alignment with the UN PRI, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the Task Force for Financial Climate Disclosures

– 5 star score / top 7th percentile in Private Debt asset class and 4 star score / top 17th percentile in Investment & Stewardship Policy (UN PRI 2021)

– Strict ESG exclusion criteria

We find it crucial to understand the environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) aspects of the businesses in which we invest, as these represent key elements of long-term value creation – we therefore integrate ESG assessments into our investment decisions and promote sustainability by including ratchets linked to the achievement of ESG targets for our borrowers.

ESG Principles

We believe that the integration of ESG considerations into our lending decisions and ownership practices impacts long-term value creation and financial performance. We have therefore committed to the following three ESG principles.

ESG standards: Always operate as a responsible lender and fund manager by promoting adherence to ESG standards at CORDET and in all portfolio companies.

ESG diligence: Thoroughly diligence relevant ESG factors, and the management of those factors, in the early stages of assessing potential lending opportunities, as these can have a significant impact on the operating success of the underlying companies.

ESG dialogue: Engage in an active dialogue with members of the financial and business communities to support best practices in relation to the advancement of responsible business standards.
