CORDET is thrilled to announce that two of its Investment Professionals have recently received leading industry awards, with Rebecca Fels awarded “Investment Leader of the Year – Sweden” at the Finance Monthly Women in Finance Awards 2020 and George Velikov recognised as one of Private Debt Investor’s “Rising Stars” for 2020.

Rebecca Fels joined CORDET in early 2019 and she has had a flying start. A German national based in CORDET’s Stockholm office, Rebecca works primarily on the origination, analysis, execution and subsequent monitoring of investment opportunities, which involves providing tailored support and flexible financing solutions to smaller mid-market companies. She speaks German, English and Swedish, making her an ideal fit for CORDET’s investment activities in the Nordic and DACH regions. The award for “Investment Leader of the Year” in Sweden is a testament to her hard work and local knowledge of her key markets.

Magnus Lindquist, Co-Managing Partner at CORDET, said: “Rebecca has really hit the ground running and we are delighted that she has been included the Women in Finance Awards 2020. It has been a busy year for CORDET, which has executed 11 new transactions so far this year, and we are very grateful to have Rebecca supporting us and our growing activities in the Nordic and DACH regions.

George Velikov was one of the first employees at CORDET. His recognition as one of Private Debt Investor’s “Rising Stars” for 2020 is a clear reflection of his achievements and his significant contribution to the strong growth that CORDET has experienced over the seven years since he joined. In recognition of his success, as well as his commitment and adaptability, George has also taken on the roles of Deputy COO and Compliance Officer. These roles continue alongside his Investment Professional mandate, where he leads the origination effort in the Benelux region and has been instrumental in building the firm’s presence.

Chris Birt, Partner and Chief Operating Officer at CORDET, said: “Every successful entrepreneurial business needs a George! Adaptable, tenacious, thoughtful and resolutely committed to delivering results, George has been instrumental in CORDET’s journey from idea to one of the leading lower mid-market private credit funds in Northern Europe. George is someone who always puts others’ priorities before his own and his inclusion in PDI’s list of Rising Stars is justified recognition for his wide-ranging achievements.”

CORDET is passionate about developing its more junior and mid-level investment professionals and promoting a diverse, inclusive and supportive culture where talented individuals can thrive. Please join the whole CORDET team in congratulating Rebecca and George on their recent achievements.
