On 16 December 2014, the UK Financial Conduct Authority authorised CORDET Capital Partners LLP as an Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD).
The AIFMD became effective in the UK in July 2013 and governs the management, administration and marketing of alternative investment funds in Europe.
Jakob Lindquist, CEO of CORDET, said: “We are pleased to have been granted authorisation by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. Being regulated as a full-scope AIFM is consistent with CORDET’s commitment to the highest standards of governance and transparency for investors.”
Lars Nyberg, Chairman of CORDET’s Regulatory & Compliance Committee, said: “We have developed policies and operational procedures to reflect international best practice. The AIFM authorisation is an important milestone for CORDET.”
CORDET Capital Partners LLP was founded in 2013 by a group of financial industry leaders with the aim of providing private debt, direct lending and alternative funding solutions to mid-market companies in Northern Europe while also addressing the need of many institutional investors for attractive risk-adjusted core income-focused credit investment returns. CORDET originates, evaluates and structures its debt investments locally through offices in London and Stockholm and seeks to develop and maintain long-term and sustainable partnerships with borrowers, banks, intermediaries as well as business owners such as financial sponsors and entrepreneurs.
